The business
Atomic Coffee Roasters is a New Zealand specialty roaster. It sells coffee online as one-off orders and as a roaster’s choice subscription. Subscribers get rotating single-origin coffees delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
The challenge
Subscription orders don’t behave like one-off orders. They recur on different schedules, often carry different pricing, and change whenever a subscriber changes their plan. Atomic needed each type of order to reach MYOB Exo correctly, without someone sorting and entering them by hand.
The solution
Atomic has run InSyncer between Shopify and MYOB Exo since 2020. InSyncer creates a sales order in Exo for every Shopify order and sends subscription orders down their own route. New online customers are set up in Exo automatically, using Atomic’s own debtor rules.
What InSyncer syncs
- Sales orders: every Shopify order is created in MYOB Exo automatically
- Subscription routing: recurring subscription orders follow their own path into Exo
- Pricing: prices for one-off and subscription products stay aligned between Exo and Shopify
- Inventory: Exo stock levels update on the Shopify storefront in real time
- Customers: new online customers are created in Exo using Atomic’s own debtor rules
The results
InSyncer has handled thousands of Atomic’s Shopify orders, subscriptions included, with no manual entry. The team spends its time roasting, not reconciling spreadsheets, and Exo stays an accurate record of both parts of the business.
